The prestigious Met Gala is May 1st, and we cannot wait to see what Kim Kardashian will style the Red Carpet with. Over the years, the SKIMS founder and beauty mogul has worn gorgeous, over-the-top fashions. Last year, Kim turned heads when she wore the original Marilyn Monroe “birthday” dress to the event. Kim lost sixteen pounds to fit into the antique piece, but the mom of four claimed that she had done so healthily.
“I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein,” she opened to Vogue at the event. “I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.”
Another famed look was the flower Givenchy dress that Kim wore for her very first Met attendance.
See what other looks Kim pulled off over the years at the Gala by continuing.

Smelling Sweet-2013
In 2013, Kim wore this floral piece by designer Givenchy. She attended as the “plus-one” with her ex-husband, Kanye West. As she was pregnant with her first child North, the creator Ricarrdo Tisci made sure that the dress could fit over her “blooming” midriff by having the fabric stretch. The dress created a lot of social media traffic and onlookers compared the flowery garment to that of the Robin Williams character, Mrs. Doubtfire.
Despite that the Kardashian Konfidential author had a near-meltdown after reading everyone’s perspectives following the Gala on the way home, Kim reflected in 2019 on Keeping Up With The Kardashians that she loved the dress.

Trending in Teal-2014
For the Charles James: Beyond Fashion theme at the Gala, The Kardashians star opted for a dark teal ensemble, complete with a wide satin sash and thigh-slit. She then accessorized the dress with diamond drop earrings. The dress was designed by Lavin.

Feathery Fluff-2015
Kim opted for the white, sheer, long-sleeved feathered dress. While it was certainly risque on a minimal level, the beadwork was exquisite, and the hemmed feathers channeled her inner Cher. The dress was made by Roberto Cavalli.

Shining in Silver-2016
For the Manus x Machina Fashion in An Age of Technology theme, the KUWTK alum shined in silver. The dress had her signature slit and was created by Balmain.

White Queen-2017
For the 2017 event, the Selfish author wore a simple Vivienne Westwood dress, revealing her toned shoulders.

Golden Goddess-2018
Kim has all the right curves to wear this figure-hugging gown for the Met Gala. On the side, there is a jeweled cross, reflecting the religious theme, and the SKKN founder wears a cross pendant as an accessory.

Shimmering From the Sea-2019
One of her most talked-about looks is the skin-matched Thierry Mugler gown, complete with the corset Kim wore for the Celebrating Camp Notes theme. The Armenian beauty appeared that she come right from the Californian ocean, with the damp hair and “dripping water” beads. She later revealed that she had to take breathing lessons in order to wear the constricting corset, which whittled her waist down to a mere twenty-one inches.
Oh, and the media personality couldn’t sit or go to the bathroom when nature called.

Following the Shadow-2021
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown, the Met Gala was canceled in 2020 and postponed to September 2021. For her return to the fundraiser, Kim went all out or rather completely covered up in a custom Balenciaga black suit.
Whether it was fighting against the Covid (seriously, who wants it?), making a statement, trying to be incognito, or all of the above, Kim knew what she was doing.
And thanks to her outfit, she wasn’t able to get SNL member, and ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson’s number, who was also attending the Gala. Luckily, the two caught up when Kim hosted SNL a few weeks later.

Marilyn Magic-2022
Just eight months later, the Met Gala returned for its original May date, and Kim brought some Marilyn Monroe magic to the event. The hopeful lawyer borrowed the original Bob Mackey dress to wear on the Red Carpet but quickly changed into a replica for the indoors. Although Kim was only trying to preserve Marilyn’s legacy and trying to create her moment, there were mixed opinions about the star wearing the dress and claimed further damage was done to it.
Both Ripley’s and Kim denied that she had done any wrongdoing and if there was any risk to the piece, then she would not have worn it.
To achieve the blonde bombshell look, Kim underwent fourteen hours of bleaching her naturally dark hair, risking potential hair loss. Nowadays, she’s back to her black locks and embracing what God gave her.

Pretty in pearls-2023
Kim turned heads once again in her pearl gown at the 2023 Met Gala. The socialite opted for the water gems as it represents Karl and his work’s legacy. The dress was designed by Schiaparelli and had more than 60,000 pearls (freshwater and crystal) that dangled from her SKIMS slip underneath. The media queen topped it off with a floor-length cape, matching heels, and a diamond and pearl multi-strand choker.
Inside the ball, Kim met up with her ex, Pete Davidson and Usher, who she had seen in the past two weekends at his Las Vegas concerts.
On the way to and from the Gala, pearls popped off Kim’s gown, which caused a “fashion mishap.” Her daughter North was quick to scoop them up and put them in her purse.
Will Kim Kardashian attend this year’s Met Gala?
Kim Kardashian and her younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner are a couple of the confirmed guests. The theme is Karl Lagerfeld and his years in fashion. Recently, Kim shared an Instagram post with the late designer’s cat, Choupette.
“Had a date with @choupetteofficiel in Paris,” Kim wrote for her post. “We then spent some time at @karllagerfeld’s office to get a little inspiration for the Met“.
