Kanye West on Desiigner’s ‘Timmy Turner’ is Straight Fire

Not long after dropping ‘Timmy Turner’ as a single, Desiigner invited Kanye West on the beat — and he murdered it.

‘Timmy Turner’ was originally released as Desiigner’s 2016 XXL Freshman freestyle, where he introduced the catchy hook. It didn’t take long for it to drop as a full 4:00 single produced by Mike Dean — who also worked with Kanye West, Beyonce, Ty Dolla Sign, 2 Chainz, Kid Cudi, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott in 2016.

The song would eventually go Platinum after reaching one million units sold in December 2016.

The single took the world by storm, so it was no surprise to eventually see Kanye West drop a verse on it. Now titled ‘Timmy Turner (Remix) [feat. Kanye West],’ the beat was cut in half and came out much softer than the original one. Desiigner took his verses out of the song, but kept the famous hook fully in tact.

After Desiigner spits the hook twice, Kanye West jumps right in at the 0:32 second mark. The lyrics are exactly what everyone expects from Yeezus — reality. The verse is about 45 seconds long and the rest of the song — a little over a minute — is filled in with the hook.

It’s definitely a song you could bump to, although a second verse from Kanye or a verse from Desiigner would’ve done more justice.

Kanye West continues to bring his music to another level every time he works on something. It’s also nice to see him collaborating with new artists.
