Kanye West won’t be attending Met Gala with Kim Kardashian

For the first time since 2013, Kanye West will not attend the Met Gala with his wife, Kim Kardashian. Yeezus is still enjoying his time off.
Kim Kardashian will be flying solo at the Met Gala tonight in New York City. After Kanye West’s hospitalization and the incident in Paris, Kanye remains out of the spotlight and away from the media.
It’ll be a little weird not seeing the couple on the red carpet, noting that the two have attended the event every year since 2013. It seems Kanye isn’t ready to make a public appearance yet, especially since it’s one of fashion’s biggest nights — meaning eyes will be everywhere.
On a good note, Kanye is doing great and remains in a positive state while at home with his children. According to PEOPLE, one insider source had good things to say about his progress:
"“Kanye has been doing okay. He’s made a lot of good progress and is in a much better place. He’ll be staying back in L.A. with their kids [North and Saint]. Everything is great with him and Kim and he’s supportive of her going solo.”"
The Met Gala is a huge event that welcomes the annual fashion exhibit run by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Last year, entertainment included the Weeknd. The year before was Rihanna. Also last year, there were approximately 600 attendees, but they wanted to keep it a little more private this year — meaning slightly less people attending.
One of those people will be Kim Kardashian and I’m sure everyone can’t wait to see what she wears on the red carpet. If you don’t remember, her and Kanye West wore matching metallic Balmain outfits last year. Here’s how US Magazine described it:
"Kardashian looked gorgeous in a long-sleeved, mirrored gown, which featured a corset-like top and an eye-catching slit. West, meanwhile, wore a crystal-encrusted jacket, a white T-shirt, ripped jeans, tan shoes and ghoulish blue contacts."

It’s good to hear that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are in a good place, especially after everything that has happened recently. Going back to the article by PEOPLE, their source had one more thing to add that I think is worth sharing:
"“[They’re] much more low-key and not in the spotlight like before,” the source said. “They both feel like they are better people and that it has changed their family for the better. They don’t have any desire to go back to how things were.”"
