The Kardashians are hotter than ever, which is why they should be moving way up in the 2017 FanSided Fandom 250.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians is the longest-running reality series still on the air that showcases the same main cast. As such, the Kardashians have been spending the last decade working on their brands and delighting their fan bases. Each one of the Kardashian and Jenner sisters have managed to use their platform to build businesses and do a lot of good in the world. Even Rob Kardashian, despite all of his recent drama, has been able to use his time on KUWTK in order to become successful with his Arthur George sock line and other projects.

The Kardashians are relatively new to FanSided with the Kardashian Dish website really picking up steam over the past year. That said, the KUWTK stars have still managed to make a mark on the Fandom 250. As the famous family continues to prove their popularity among a sports-centric community, we wanted to share why the Kardashians deserve the top spot in the FanSided Fandom 250 in 2017 and going forward.

The Kardashians on Instagram

The Kardashians are the most popular celebrities on Instagram. Kim Kardashian has 105 million Instagram followers on her own. Kylie Jenner is right behind her with (this is no joke) 99.9 million Instagram followers. Kendall has 85 million, Khloe has 70 million, and Kourntey is at nearly 60 million Instagram followers.

Sure, there are other celebrities out there with some huge Instagram followings. Selena Gomez, The Rock, and Ariana Grande are all topping the list as the most followed celebs in 2017. However, none of them carrying the product endorsement power of a Kardashian. Then, when you combine all of the KUWTK stars, that’s just a whole lot of Instagram followers.

The Kardashians on other social media

Of course, Instagram isn’t the only way to gauge a celebrity’s popularity. There are several other social media networks out there and it’s safe to say the Kardashians are utilizing every single one of them. The KUWTK stars regularly post on Facebook and Twitter which means they naturally have large followings there too.

The big push lately has been the use of Snapchat, where the Kardashians are often posting pictures and videos. As a matter of fact, a lot of the Kardashian and Jenner sisters more candid and unplanned photos and videos seem to end up on Snapchat. Kardashian fans who want a less polished look into the lives of the Kardashians should definitely follow all of the sisters there.

The Kardashians and their fans

The biggest reason that the Kardashians deserve a top spot on the Fandom 250 has everything to do with their fans. It’s already established that there are a lot of KUWTK fans out there. Millions of them if we’re being realistic. People either love the Kardashians or they love to hate them (and often don’t even know why!) The bottom line is that the Kardashians are incredibly popular and they aren’t going anywhere.

When it comes to their fans, the Kardashians know exactly why they are famous and who gets the credit. When out in public, it’s no secret that the KUWTK stars, especially Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, will go out of their way to take photos with fans and to be friendly with those who they come in contact with. Have you ever heard someone recount a negative experience with a Kardashian? Neither have we.

Sometimes their fan friendliness can be a problem for the Kardashians. Not wanting to let their loyal fanbase down, they are often caught off guard or even delayed in their plans because fans want to take selfies together or they get spotted during an outing.

It was even featured during a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. During the Kardashian Christmas special, Kris Jenner and Jonathan Cheban wore disguises so they could do their Christmas shopping in peace. It’s not that they didn’t want to take selfies with their fans and have a good time. They just wanted to finish their Christmas shopping lists and not have fans posting pictures of what they had purchased. That sounds reasonable.

The Kardashians take on social issues

As if that’s not enough reason to love the Kardashians and to vote them into a top spot on the FanSided Fandom 250, there is even more. While many who don’t understand the famous family often describe them as shallow, it’s a fact that the KUWTK stars have been very active in social issues on top of everything else they do.

Kris Jenner made it clear during hurricane season that they would be donating money to each of the areas affected in 2017. When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, the Kardashians donated. They also donated after Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Kim was very vocal after the hurricane in Puerto Rico, urging people to help out when people needed it the most.

Gun control has been a topic of an actual episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians recently, While Kim’s strong stance on gun control and the absence of guns in her home was definitely highlighted and talked about, both sides of the issue were presented when it was learned that Khloe and Kendall were considering gun ownership.

There have also been KUWTK episodes just this season that focused on Planned Parenthood and homelessness. While Kim was featured as she headed to skid row to feed the homeless, it’s worth noting that the Kardashians have done this many times, both on KUWTK and off-camera too.

The latest social activism on behalf of the KUWTK clan also comes from Kim Kardashian. She has been championing for the release of Alice Johnson, a first-time drug offender and single parent who was sentenced to life in prison. Kim also has been vocal about wanting the release of Cyntoia Brown, a sex trafficking victim who is also serving a lengthy sentence after murdering a man who hired her to have sex with him while she was still underage.

Kim didn’t just make a social media post about these women. She hired high powered lawyers to start working on the cases of these women in order to help them with their appeals. That is the kind of social activism and celebrity influence that we need in order to change the world.

There is a pretty strong case for the Kardashians to become the top fandom in the FanSided Fandom 250. The KUWTK stars are popular, they love their fans, their fans love them and they have a lot more going on than just a reality series and a few makeup brands. Those who aren’t paying attention to the Kardashians should certainly start keeping up.
