Caitlyn Jenner’s post deemed insensitive, sparks major backlash
By Haley Cook
During the recent California wildfires, several people lost their homes and all of their belongings. Caitlyn Jenner was not one of them and after posting about it on Instagram, viewers are mad.
Despite the reports, Caitlyn Jenner did not lose her home in the California wildfires. However, that’s not the same fate a lot of other residents faced. Many homes and belongings were lost in the fire. Caitlyn made an Instagram post about being blessed, and people are mad about it.
The post featured a beautiful view of Malibu from Caitlyn’s home and was captioned “This is the reason we live in Malibu. So lucky our home made it. We are praying for everyone’s quick recovery. #blessed.”
While the whole post was a little controversial, it was the #blessed at the end that made a lot of people mad. Commenters said that Caitlyn is not more deserving of her home to stand than anyone else. They also said that the photo was pretty but was majorly rubbing it in to those who weren’t so lucky. Take a look at the post for yourself:
Personally, I think her intentions were great but the post itself was definitely rubbing it in. Some say they hope she is actually using her money and social influence to do something to help, not just sitting outside taking photos. I totally agree, if she really wants to help, she needs to do what others can’t.
During the fires there were rumors that Caitlyn Jenner’s home burned down, but she cleared those up quickly. Looking at the Instagram post, her home most certainly did not burn down.
