The Kardashian and Jenner sisters are well known on Instagram. They have the power to use their social media for good or evil. However, when they promote diet products, do they really know what they are promoting?

Kardashian advertise potentially unsafe products

It looks like the Kardashian family may in up in trouble for promoting some potentially unsafe products on their Instagram. Many wonder why they even need to promote anything at all. Don’t they have plenty of money saved up?

Kim and her sister Kourtney Kardashian have been promoting a weight loss shake system and lollipop line that has been creating a lot of backlash. They didn’t just start posting these, but its continued on for quite some time.

Whenever they post something like this they instantly cause an uproar from fans. Especially with the appetite suppressing lollipops. This can definitely been seen as a problem since it’s super important to eat and promote positive body image. Not eat a lollipop to keep yourself from being hungry.

What is being done to solve the issue

According to MTV, the England National Medical Director is hoping social media platforms will sensor things that are being posted and sponsored a little more carefully. That way, products that could be harmful aren’t being pushed onto the thousands of followers celebrities like the Kardashians have.

“Highly influential celebrities are letting down the very people who look up to them by peddling products which are at best ineffective and at worst harmful,” said Steve Powis.

Of course, the Kardashian’s aren’t the only ones that participate in this. Celebrities everywhere are posting these ads without necessarily knowing what’s in the products they are promoting.
