1. Kim Kardashian visits the White House to announce Lyft partnership for prison reform

On June 13, Kim Kardashian West made an unexpected visit to the White House, although not her first, in order to announce a partnership with Lyft that would allow former prisoners a second chance with the help of a ride-share program.

This visit came on the heels of the First Step Act that was passed in December of 2018. As part of a widespread effort at prison reform, Kardashian West has been working with the White House and an organization helping prisoners adjust to life outside prison. And this visit to announce the ride-share program was all part of this effort to make a difference.

According to Above the Law, Kardashian West spoke at the event to thank Lyft for granting “credits to formerly incarcerated people when they come,” which allows them the chance to succeed in the private sector. With these credits, former prisoners are given an opportunity to get to job interviews, medical appointments, and other meetings that they need to attend.

And as CNN points out, the reality star truly is a solid proponent of helping these former prisoners move on with their lives, as she has been adamant about helping them find jobs, while calling out inequalities over the way those with a record are treated once they have been released from prison.

Considering how much work Kim Kardashian West has put into this program, it makes sense that she is also acting as the face of prison reform when visiting the White House. And we love that she has found a cause that is truly changing her life. After all, she is even studying to be a lawyer in an effort to make a difference in other people’s lives.

While we still have plenty of time left in 2019 for the Kardashian family to make big moves, these 10 moments are certainly some of our favorites. From new additions to the family to expanding their businesses, the Kardashians are clearly winning the year once again and proving why we love them!
