6. Forbes officially names Kylie Jenner the youngest self-made billionaire
At the end of 2018, there was a lot of buzz about Kylie Jenner after she partnered with Ulta Beauty to widen her reach of Kylie Cosmetics. There was talk of Jenner being the youngest self-made billionaire ever, and while she may have been on the path to that title, it was not until 2019 that it became official.
In March, Forbes did a special piece on Jenner in which they discussed the way the reality star built her business and her fortune. And it was then that the media outlet confirmed that Kylie Jenner is in fact the youngest person to ever become a self-made billionaire at the age of 21, which is two years younger than Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.
While there has been plenty of debate over the idea of Jenner being self-made, we can’t take away from all of the hard work the reality star has put into her cosmetics line. In fact, considering much of what makes her a billionaire comes from Kylie Cosmetics, we have to give a lot of credit to Jenner for her ability to take her name and make money with it.
As a fan of her cosmetics line, I understand why it has allowed her to become a billionaire. The products are high quality, without a price tag that puts them far out of reach. And sure, they don’t carry the typical drugstore prices of $10 or less, but the price point for her lip kits is definitely well within reason for makeup lovers.
Knowing that the reality star was able to turn not only her name and social media following into a thriving business proves that she knows exactly what she is doing. And it makes sense that she is one to watch.
