Mariah Carey earns 19th No. 1 with ‘AIWFCIY’

Mariah Carey has officially earned her 19th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her iconic Christmas carol ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.

Mariah Carey wrote the legendary Christmas song in just under 90 minutes, according to Mariah herself. She wrote the melody on a keyboard way back in 1994, and believe it or not, it has reached its peak at #1 for the FIRST TIME EVER, since its debut 25 years ago.

The album ‘Merry Christmas’, which features ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, was released in 1994, and Mimi and her team did everything and anything in their power to make its 25th anniversary a big one.

Mariah re-released the album as a deluxe version this time around, and has even gone on to create new merch, signed singles, a sold-out Christmas tour and a brand new music video set to be released this upcoming week.

News officially broke this afternoon via ChartData and BillboardCharts that ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ has broken over 10 RECORDS today, and gained Mariah her 19th No. 1!

This is huge for Mariah, considering she now holds the record for most Hot 100 #1’s by any solo artist in history. The Beatles have a whopping 20 #1’s, with Mariah comfortably sitting in her throne at 19.

The Lambily (Mariah’s fandom) has worked endlessly at getting this song to #1! With buying, streaming and requesting radio play, the lambs, Mariah and her team have knocked this one out of the park.
