NBA star Kobe Bryant has sadly passed away after being involved in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former Lakers legend Kobe Bryant! The news broke out earlier today that Kobe was involved in a helicopter crash with 5 other people, all of whom died as well.

According to TMZ, Kobe Bryant was travelling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter. After it went down, a fire broke out and emergency personnel responded, however, nobody on board survived.

As of now, 5 people are confirmed dead, however, Vanessa Bryant, Kobe’s wife, was not on board and is safe. When the helicopter went down, eyewitnesses say they heard the helicopter’s engine sputtering before it went down. Flames and smoke instantly covered all around the crash, however, the official cause is yet to be determined.

Kobe Bryant has been known to use his helicopter for numerous occasions without any problems, however, this time around, things did not go as planned.

He will be forever missed, and his mark on the world of sports will forever be remembered. Kobe is survived by his wife Vanessa, and their four daughters Gianna, Natalia, Bianca and newborn baby, Capri.

Kobe is widely known to be one of the greatest NBA players of all time, and rightfully so! He made 18 All-Star teams during his 20 years career with the Lakers and has 2 NBA Finals MVP titles, and 5 NBA championships under his belt. A true basketball legend that we will forever be grateful to have graced the court.

We are sending our deepest sympathies to the Bryant family and all of his friends and fans. Rest in peace, Kobe.
