Zac Efron to join former costars for High School Musical reunion

Zac Efron is set to come together with his former High School Musical costars for a special reunion as part of Disney’s Family Singalong special!

To most, Zac Efron is known as one of Hollywood’s many dreamboats, often leading blockbuster films and serving as the leading man alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. However, before he broke big at the box office as a leading man, he was often seen on the small screen in bit roles and made-for-television movies.

Then came Disney’s High School Musical.

At the film’s leading man, Efron’s career suddenly began trending upward with the franchise serving as a stepping stone to the big leagues. It’s been over a decade since the Wildcats last assembled in High School Musical 3, but Disney is soon set to reunite the cast in a special that is sure to draw the eyes of all High School Musical fans!

As reported by Deadline, High School Musical director Kenny Ortega has managed to round up the entire core ensemble for a special reunion during ABC’s Disney’s Family Singalong — which will bring together a handful of celebrities for a night celebrating Disney music.

After being approached by ABC, Ortega began calling around and managed to get the entire High School Musical cast to agree to participate in the special. This not only includes Zac Efron, but his former costars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel.

While not perhaps a traditional reunion, the former costars are expected to come together alongside a handful of other Disney stars and talent Ortega has worked alongside for a special performance of “We’re All In This Together” — a standout tune from the film which has since become a motto to many as we navigate the current coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to Zac Efron and the stars of High School Musical, Disney has lined up quite the impressive list of all-stars and Disney alums to participate in its special musical hour.
