John Krasinski is breaking out his DJ skills, hosting a special virtual prom for the Class of 2020 through his Some Good News YouTube channel.

The coronavirus pandemic has led to many changes in the everyday lives of individuals across the nation. Among those affected by the coronavirus related shutdowns are students across the nation who have had to attend class from home due to school closures. As a result, many students have missed the opportunity to partake in usual school activities including sports, school clubs, and school gatherings.

One of the events many will likely miss as a result of the school closures is, of course, senior prom — a high school staple and one of the most memorable events of the social calendar. Although there’s nothing quite like the experience of a real prom, actor John Krasinski is looking to provide the Class of 2020 with a fun alternative!

It’s stories such as these which we honestly need more of during these times and his efforts to be a light in the dark only makes us love the former star of The Office even more than we thought was possible!

Senior Prom is such a momentous moment of one’s final year of High School and there’s no denying many seniors could use a pick-me-up during this time of social distancing. While perhaps not the same as the usual prom, Krasinski’s Some Good News prom promises to be an unforgettable night full of good music, special guests and fun — which we can all use a bit more during these times.
