In the latest hour of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Hamilton alum Renee Elise Goldsberry went toe-to-toe with series star Lauren Graham in an incredible, must-see sing-off!
From the moment Renee Elise Goldsberry made her debut on the show as the rival of Graham’s character Joan, fans began to hold out hope that the two stars would not only share the screen more often but that a musical number could be in the cards.
Those prayers were answered in the tenth episode of the show’s debut season as the pair’s characters collided for an epic sing-off set to the tune of Brandy and Monica’s iconic duet, “The Boy is Mine.”

In episode 10, “Zoey’s Extraordinary Outburst,” tensions reached a boiling point after SQRP Point boss Joan (Lauren Graham) discovered a member of her team, Skyler Astin’s loveable coder Max, had been poached by her rival Ava Price (Goldsberry), the boss of floor six.
Upon discovering Max’s move, Joan makes it her mission to bring Max — or should we say the files he was working on in creating the company’s newest product — back to Floor 4!
When going to confront Ava, tension between the two rivals comes to a head. Cue a Zoey’s infused musical number which finds Ava and Joan facing off in a heated sing-off in which the two fight over Max, fittingly set to “The Boy is Mine.”

While Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist has gifted us with many memorable musical numbers thus far in its inaugural season, Goldsberry and Graham’s duet easily ranks among one of the season’s greatest performances yet.
From the incredible vocals from the two incredible performers to the fun choreography which makes great use of the office setting, the sing-off is a pure joy to watch from start to finish leaving us wanting so much more!
