Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand is facing backlash again
Kim Kardashian‘s face masks from SKIMS may have sold out unbelievably quick, but they are now facing backlash over the shades. Let’s break down the hate and see if it’s justified and if Kim could have done something to prevent the anger.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan continues to do their part to help others during the pandemic. Sure, it may seem as if Kim Kardashian is taking advantage of COVID-19 by creating masks for her brand SKIMS, but I wouldn’t say Kim is “cashing in” on the pandemic.
Kim’s new line of Seamless Face Masks are priced at only $8 each or four for $25, which comes to just over $6 a mask. These are competitive prices, some of the cheapest I’ve seen, in fact, for reusable masks that can be used multiple times.
How is SKIMS helping COVID-19 efforts, you ask? On the SKIMS page, the brand shares that they have donated over 10,000 Seamless Face Masks to multiple charitable partners that include Baby2Baby, LA Food Bank, and others.
Why the backlash over Kim Kardashian’s Seamless Face Masks?
The problem people seem to have with these isn’t so much the fact that they exist, but the shades.
SKIMS Seamless Face Masks are available in five shades, and people seem to have a problem with the darkest tone. According to some of the comments on Kim’s Twitter, the color is “inaccurate” and “offensive.” But, if we are being honest, I think people would have had a problem if the masks were any other color.
Had the masks been a lighter shade, people may comment they are too light, and more colors should be available. You can’t please everyone and people will always find a problem, especially when it comes to the Kardashian family. At least there were plenty of supporters in the comments, as well!
What do you think about Kim Kardashian’s face masks from SKIMS? Were you lucky enough to get one or a bundle pack when they were on sale? Let’s hope they stock up again, soon!
