Kourtney Kardashian is filming new KUWTK season 18 footage from home

Here’s some news Kourtney Kardashian fans can get behind: Kourtney has been actively filming new footage for the current season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians!

As fans will recall, Kourtney threw in the towel and quit KUWTK earlier this year after coming to blows with sister Kim Kardashian in the season 18 premiere. The fight was one of the most cringe-worthy moments from the show’s eighteen-season run and we couldn’t blame Kourtney for wanting to take a step back after the blowup.

While she made a few brief appearances in the episodes that followed, her presence on the show has definitely been missed and the show hasn’t quite been the same without her. Luckily, her time away will be coming to an end sooner than expected.

Looking to keep production rolling, executive producer Farnaz Farjam and Kris Jenner hatched a plan for the family to continue filming new footage for the show during these times of social distancing. In lieu of camera crews shooting footage in the family’s homes, each member of the family has received new iPhones and filming materials to shoot new KUWTK footage on their own from home.

As reported by Elle, this includes Kourtney Kardashian who, like her sisters, has been filming new materials from her home “shooting confessionals on tripods and recording their family Zoom dinners.”

While it’s great to hear Kourtney is filming for KUWTK season 18 once again, fans shouldn’t get ahead of themselves as it seems Kourtney is still planning on keeping a limited role on the show.

“She’s trying to take a detox a little bit from her phone,” Farjam revealed in speaking with Elle. In other words, while Kourtney is shooting new footage, she’s been far less active in recording materials than sister Kim Kardashian.

While Kourtney is keeping things minimal, Kim has been leading the charge and turning in the most footage for the production team to use. This has included a focus on her homeschooling efforts and how she’s been passing time in quarantine.

Given Kourtney had called it quits, it makes sense for her to ease back into filming and keep her role limited as she gradually returns to KUWTK. At this point, we’ll happily take any and all Kourtney footage we can get!
