Rob Kardashian should not be overlooked for Kirby Jenner

Kirby Jenner might be all the rage among Kardashian fans, but let’s be honest in admitting that Rob Kardashian doesn’t deserve to stand in the shadow of the Kardashian’s fictional brother.

This spring, the Kardashian family rolled out the red carpet for Kirby Jenner who made his reality TV debut in a self-titled series on Quibi. The series follows Kendall Jenner’s twin brother’s latest misadventures and hijinks in a series which features cameos from Kendall as well as Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian and mom Kris Jenner.

With the launch of the show, the Kardashian family couldn’t stop talking about the show and their fictional brother Kirby and sent out a flood of shoutouts on social media. While the show is all done in good fun as were the posts from the Kardashian-Jenner clan, the truth is that the series seems to have inadvertently cast a shadow on the sisters’ real-life brother: Rob Kardashian.

While Rob was known to pop up and appear more regularly during early seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as the years have gone by we’ve come to see less of Rob with fewer and fewer appearances on the series.

In recent seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, most of Rob’s stray appearances have been a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it type moment which is truly a shame given the fun Rob brought to the show during its early years. Although fans were greeted with a proper appearance from Rob in the first half of season 18, it’s been years since Rob was given the spotlight.

Meanwhile on social media, it’s not often that Rob’s sisters post about their real-life brother with only the occasional mention of Rob here and there to mark certain occasions such as a birthday, anniversary, or holiday.

So when everyone started to post about Kirby Jenner, we couldn’t help but feel that Rob had been pushed further into the backdrop and left standing in the shadow of the fictional character.

While we understand Rob is more private than his sisters, it would be nice to see Rob’s name pop up more often in conversation or even to see him on a more regular basis on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. After all, is it really too much to ask for more of the Kardashian’s actual brother and less of a fictitious one?

Why doesn’t Rob Kardashian appear more often on Keeping Up with the Kardashians?

So what might be holding the Keeping Up with the Kardashians producers from featuring Rob more prominently on the series?

While Rob has made appearances on the show since stepping into a lesser role after season 6, it turns out that one of the key reasons Rob is not featured more often is due to his desire to keep a lower profile and avoid drama. As Kim revealed during an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, “He has his moods. Sometimes he’s like, ‘Look, I didn’t sign up for this’ and then he’s like, ‘I’m cool to do it.'”

Considering how much pot-stirring and drama unfolds during each season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians we honestly can’t fault Rob for wanting to avoid any unnecessary drama. However, it would still be nice to see Rob more often or even to see the sisters show Rob a bit more love on social media with the occasional shoutout — outside of special events. After all, if they have time to show some love for a fictional brother, why not give a little love to their real brother?

What do you think: Are you disappointed to see the Kardashians’ fictional brother Kirby Jenner getting more screentime than their real brother Rob Kardashian? Would you like to see Rob Kardashian appear more often in Keeping Up with the Kardashians?
