Kylie Jenner might be one of the wealthiest members of the Kardashian family, but she apparently is quite frugal when it comes to tipping — at least according to one former New York City restaurant hostess who is spilling the tea about her celebrity encounters.
Taking to TikTok, Julia Carolann decided to dish the dirt on some of the A-List stars who she crossed paths with while serving as a hostess at various New York City restaurants between April 2017 and January 2019. In the trending video, Julia shares her personal experiences with several stars from over the years, rating them based on her encounter.

While the former hostess had kind words for certain A-Listers such as models Bella and Gigi Hadid, her experience with Kylie Jenner wasn’t quite as enjoyable. In fact, she rates Kylie as a 2/10 due in large part to her terrible tipping or lack thereof.

Kylie Jenner once tipped only $20 after laying down $500 for a meal
According to the former hostess, Kylie once stopped by one of the restaurants she was working with at the time. During her visit, Kylie and, we presume, her party wracked up a bill of $500; however, when it came time to pay the bill Kylie wasn’t quite as generous with her tipping as she was with her spending.
As Carolann noted in the above video, “[Kylie] was fine, but she tipped $20 on a $500 dinner bill. Do with that information what you will.”
For those doing the math, that means Kylie’s tip was only four percent. Yikes! The average recommendation for tipping is to tip 15 to 20 percent of the pre-tax bill, meaning the expectation would be for Kylie to have tipped within $75-$100.
It’s important to keep in mind this is all based on one hostess’s recollection of an encounter with Kylie and is essentially hearsay. If true, we definitely understand why the hostess doesn’t exactly rate Kylie highly and put her on blast for being a poor tipper.
