Kanye West has sadly been going through it, to say the least, and his wife is now speaking out.

This week, the rapper made headlines after he went on an extensive Twitter rant, calling out Kris Jenner, among others, as well as alleging that the 2017 horror movie Get Out is actually about him. He also revealed that he was considering divorce.

“I’ve been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf for ‘prison reform,'” Kanye wrote in a since-deleted tweet, which you can see here.

Now, Kim Kardashian is publicly reacting to the tweet spree, explaining to her followers that bipolar disorder is not something to make light of. “As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” she began on her Instagram Story.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star continued with:

“I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.”

Kim went on highlighting how people should not be judgmental towards those who suffer from mental illness especially when they don’t understand it, and concluded by asking for privacy.

“I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this. Thank you for those who have expressed concern for Kanye’s well being and for your understanding,” Kim wrote.

No matter what’s really going on between Kanye and his family, Kim is right in asking for privacy. We can’t imagine this being an easy situation for anyone involved.
