Betty White is trending on Twitter because of fans’ dislike of Kylie Jenner

Betty White is trending on Twitter, but not for the reason you expect

When it comes to American Icons, it’s hard to find any who are quite as universally loved as Betty White. For decades, White has been a staple in the entertainment industry gifting fans with several iconic moments and beloved roles such as the kind-hearted yet naive Rose Nylund of the Golden Girls or the sassy, foul-mouthed Elka Ostrovsky from Hot in Cleveland.

Fans can’t get enough of America’s favorite grandma and her well-being has long been a point of dicussion. So when Betty White suddenly started to trend on Twitter, fans’ hearts sank out of concern for Hollywood’s favorite Golden Girl. 

Although many fans, yours truly included, jumped to grave conclusions as to why White was trending the fortunate reality is that White is doing well and that her health has absolutely nothing to do with why she began trending on Aug. 7.

Why is Betty White trending on Twitter?

Two Words: Kylie. Jenner.

That’s right folks, Betty White’s rise to the top of Twitter’s trending topics is a direct result of Kylie Jenner or more accurately fans disapproval with Kylie’s cameo in Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s new music video.

On Aug. 7, Cardi B and Stallion released the video for their collaborative hit “WAP,” which featured a few surprise cameos from Jenner, Normani, Rosalía, Mulatto, and more. While Kardashian fans were happy to see the youngest Kar-Jenner make a surprise appearance, others weren’t quite as excited to see Kylie and the conversation quickly turned to a discussion of stars (and even inanimate objects) fans would have rather seen cameo.

This is where White came into play, as the actress quickly rose to the top of many’s wishlists which led to Betty White trending across the social media platform:

So for now, we can all rest assured in knowing White is doing well and that she was trending due to a combination of fans’ dislike of Kylie’s involvement in the “WAP” video and suggestion that White would have been a better pick!
