The Kardashians: Could a Kardashian compete on the new season of DWTS?
By Cody Schultz
Will a Kardashian compete as part of Dancing with the Stars season 29?
When it comes to reality TV, the Kardashian-Jenner family might be best known for Keeping Up with the Kardashians; however, the Kardashian and Jenners have made the rounds with apperances on a number of programs including ABC’s long-running staple Dancing with the Stars.
It all began in 2007 when Kim Kardashian became the first member of the family to take to the ballroom as part of the season 7 cast. Unfortunately, despite being paired with one of the show’s best male pros Mark Ballas, Kim wasn’t quite able to tap into her dancing skills. As a result, Kim was the third celebrity eliminated coming in eleventh place.
Six seasons later, Rob Kardashian decided to try his hand at the show. Competing with Cheryl Burke in season 13, Rob managed to cha cha his way all the way to finale night in becoming one of the season’s breakout stars. Although Rob came up just short of taking home the Mirrorball Trophy with his second-place finish, he managed to redeem the Kardashian name and gifted fans with quite a memorable season.
It’s been nearly a decade since a member of the Kardashian family has competed on Dancing with the Stars, but could that change during the fall 2020 cycle?

DWTS will return for its 29th season this fall. After an unexpectedly long hiatus, it seems safe to assume ABC will want to try to attract some buzzy names to join the cast. Enter the Kardashians.
It goes without saying that the Kardashians remain some of the most-talked-about celebrities of our time with some of the most passionate and sizable followings on social media. By landing any member of the Kardashian-Jenner family, ABC would immediately create some buzz around the season.
Since Rob and Kim have both competed, we can rule them out of the mix but that still leaves us with four Kardashian-Jenner members to choose from in Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner.
Although it seems unlikely Kendall or Kylie would compete, for varying reasons, we’re sure ABC could manage to convince Kris or Kourtney to join the show. Considering Kourtney will be taking on a lighter role on KUWTK, a role on DWTS could be a fun step outside her comfort zone and we’re sure she’d go far in the competition.
Meanwhile, Kris has never really had the chance to shine with any major solo projects so DWTS could prove to be a perfect way for Kris to steal the spotlight. Plus, can you just imagine how many memorable soundbites she might be able to provide or memorable moments she’d create?!
Would you like to see a member of the Kardashian-Jenner family compete on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars? If ABC were to tap a member of the family to compete, who would you like to see join the cast: Khloe, Kourtney, Kris, Kylie or Kendall?
