Dancing with the Stars confirms Artem Chigvintsev as season 29 pro
After being sidelined unexpectedly in Dancing with the Stars season 28, Artem Chigvintsev will finally return to the ballroom as a season 29 pro!
Although it first looked as though Chigvintsev was going to be sidelined for his second consecutive season, Dancing with the Stars’ producers surprised Chigvintsev’s fans on Aug. 24 when they confirmed his involvement as a pro as part of the season 29 cast in an unexpected announcement on Good Morning America.
Chigvintsev now becomes the fifteenth pro to be confirmed for the upcoming season, joining previously announced pros Sharna Burgess, Keo Motsepe, Britt Stewart, Daniella Karagach, Pasha Pashkov, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Emma Slater, Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten, Val Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd, Gleb. Savchenko and Cheryl Burke. This now seems to be one of the largest seasons in recent years, which is likely in part to ABC anticipating a delayed return for some of its other scripted series.

In confirming the news via Twitter, Chigvintsev noted he’ll be dedicating his appearance this season to his baby boy who was born July 31, his first child with fiancee Nikki Bella. Bella and Chigvintsev, of course, first met through Dancing with the Stars when Bella competed alongside Chigvintsev during the show’s 25th season.

It’s going to be interesting to see who Chigvintsev will be paired with this season, but we’re hopeful he’ll be partnered with a celebrity with a personality who will complement his and who will prove to have some dancing skills.

Of course, we here at Kardashian Dish would be over the moon if ABC might be able to land a member of the Kardashian-Jenner family and there’s no other celeb we’d rather see them compete with than Chigvintsev!
Dancing with the Stars season 28 premieres Monday, Sept. 14 at 8/7c on ABC.
