Kim Kardashian is reportedly considering a divorce from husband Kanye West due to his opposed stance on abortion, as well as his bipolar disorder.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian is reportedly considering a divorce from her husband and rapper Kanye West. The reason for the potential split? Kanye’s firm opposition on abortion.
A source told Page Six that “Kim has the whole divorce planned out but she’s waiting for him to get through his latest episode.” The couple has been together for six years, but that isn’t to say they haven’t had their ups and downs. Kanye’s bipolar disorder has caused him to have public episodes, mostly taking place on Twitter, which has also taken a toll on the two’s relationship.
Will Kim Kardashian divorce Kanye West over his stance on abortion?
Over the last few months, the College Dropout rapper has been extremely vocal in his opinions against abortion, even having had a breakdown over potentially aborting the couple’s first daughter, North, in Charleston South Carolina back in July. Hysterically sobbing over the situation, the rapper was at one of his first campaign rallies.
"“My mom saved my life. My dad wanted to abort me. My mom saved my life. There would have been no Kanye West because my dad was too busy,” he said in between tears. “I almost killed my daughter! I almost killed my daughter!”"
Page Six notes that in September, the 43-year-old rapper had revisited the topic of abortion with Nick Cannon. West said his greatest accomplishment was “still being sensitive enough to cry at the idea of aborting my daughter.” Just last week, West mentioned his daughter being murdered in another span of tweets which raised major concern for fans and those close to him.
"“NORTHY I AM GOING TO WAR AND PUTTING MY LIFE ON THE LINE AND IF I AM MURDERED DON`T EVER LET WHITE MEDIA TELL YOU I WASNT A GOOD MAN,” also adding, “WHEN PEOPLE THREATEN TO TAKE YOU OUT OF MY LIFE JUST KNOW I LOVE YOU.”"
Wife Kim Kardashian, however, shares very opposite views on the topic of abortion than those of her husband. Being an advocate for Planned Parenthood ever since her and her sisters went to visit the organization to learn more, the Skims founder has even met with the chief executive Sue Dunlap.
"“We’ve been around for 100 years, and just celebrated our 100th anniversary,” she said. “One in five women of reproductive age will go to a Planned Parenthood. We primarily provide life-saving cancer screenings, STD treatments, birth control—ninety percent of the work that we do is preventive care.”"
As fans watched in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the sisters also sat with three women who had gotten major help from Planned Parenthood for each of their respective needs. At the end of the episode, it is seen that the sisters walk away from the tour being better informed of the services the organization offers, and are supportive of them.
Despite the rumors, it is still safe to say that nothing is certain. Another source has also told Page Six that she wouldn’t divorce the Chicago rapper because it wasn’t “a good look” during this time.
