Kourtney Kardashian’s celebrity status fading without KUWTK

After stepping away from Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kourtney Kardashian’s star status seems to be slipping away. At least in one particular area.
When Kourtney Kardashian decided to step away from Keeping Up with the Kardashians, fans were understandably shocked and questioned whether she was making the correct decision in taking a step back.
There’s no denying that her decision to step away from the show was the right call for her mental health and Kourtney has clearly been living her best life since walking away from her full-time role. However, her celebrity status seems to have taken a turn for the worst — a fact made evident with the revealing of the nominations for the 2020 People’s Choice Awards.
Kourtney Kardashian fails to secure People’s Choice Award nomination
On Oct. 1, E! announced the nominations for this year’s People’s Choice Awards which created many reasons for celebration in the Kardashian-Jenner family. Not only did KUWTK managed to pick up a nomination in this year’s Reality Show of 2020 category but several members of the family managed to pick up a nomination as well.
Leading the pack with three nominations was Kim Kardashian West, who is up for Reality Star of 2020, Social Celebrity of 2020 and Style Star of 2020. Funny enough, Kim will compete alongside three of her sisters in the categories going against Khloe Kardashian in the Realty Star race, Kylie Jenner in the Social Celebrity race and Kendall Jenner in the Style Star race.

Noticeably left out in the cold was Kourtney Kardashian who was completely shut out of this year’s celebration. While there are likely many factors behind why Kourtney failed to pick up a nomination, it seems safe to say that her decision to step back from KUWTK did her no favors.
Without a larger role in the latest episodes of KUWTK, it seems Kourtney’s celebrity star has dimmed just enough for her to be left in the cold this awards season.
Addison Rae has one thing Kourtney Kardashian does not
While Kourtney Kardashian might not have managed to secure a People’s Choice Awards nomination this year, her bestie Addison Rae faired slightly better.
After a breakout year, Addison managed to secure a nomination in the Social Star of 2020 category alongside a slew of other Tik Tok stars. While some might take Addison’s nomination as a result of the Kardashian Effect, it’s hard to argue her friendship with Kourtney helped Addison secure a nomination given Kourtney couldn’t even secure one for herself.
