Kris Jenner blames viewers for KUWTK cancellation: The world has changed
By Cody Schultz
Kris Jenner is opening up about the decision to end Keeping Up with the Kardashians and seems to suggest fans might be to blame for the show’s end.
From the moment it was announced Keeping Up with the Kardashians time on E! was coming to an end with a 20th and final season, fans have been looking for someone to blame for the decision.
In the immediate wake of the show’s cancellation, many called out Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner as being the driving forces behind the show’s demise. Others, meanwhile, have pointed fingers at Kanye West who has long made it clear he’s not a fan of the show and made it impossible for certain aspects of Kim’s life to be featured on the series.
The truth is that there are likely many folks who share the blame for the show which, according to Kris Jenner, includes KUWTK fans themselves.

In a new interview with WWD, the business mogul responsible for launching the Kardashian empire got candid in speaking about the downfall of the show.
Reflecting on the decision to end the show, Kris was quick to point out that a lot has changed since the show first premiered in 2007 including how viewers keep up with the family. As she made it clear, thanks to apps like Instagram fans are able to see what’s going on in the lives of the family in real-time and therefore have less interest in waiting months to watch it unfold in an episode of KUWTK.

"“When we first started, there was no Instagram or Snapchat or other social media platforms,” said Jenner. “The world has changed. Now there are so many, the viewer doesn’t have to wait three or four months to see an episode. We can give them all of the information anyone would ever want to know in real time."
While Kris didn’t come right out and blame fans directly, it certainly seems the way in which they’ve chosen to keep up with the family through social media has essentially made KUWTK inconsequential to the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
In simplest terms, there’s just no longer a need for the family to have cameras follow them around 24/7 when they can reach even more fans in real-time with help from their smartphones and preferred social media platforms.
