Did Kylie Jenner go on Kim Kardashian’s birthday trip?

Kim Kardashian turning 40 was a pretty big moment in Kardashian history. With a big moment like this, comes an even bigger party for the famous fam. And so Kim and company recently went on an ultra private, tropical, controversial vacation.

Apparently, it was so top secret that not even the close friends and family who came along knew where they’d be going at first. That was until, of course, a boatload of sun-soaked shots on social media revealed many big birthday secrets.

Along with speculating that the island bound birthday party was a six-day vacation in Tahiti, eagle-eyed fans quickly figured out who attended the reality star’s 40th birthday bash at the beach. And surprisingly, which guest turned out to be a no-show for those highly-anticipated trip.

Was Kylie on Kim’s birthday trip?

Of the somewhat surprising guest list, Kanye West, Khloe Kardashian, Tristan Thompson, Kourtney Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and even Kendall Jenner’s rumored boyfriend, Devin Booker, were all spotted partying it up, to name a few. Notably absent from the looks of it? Kylie Jenner.

So why was Kylie not a part of Kim’s big party? We’re not sure yet. Maybe the makeup mogul anticipated the controversy to follow. Who knows? Not only was the guest-list pretty long, but many on social media were not pleased by the sight of all of those mask-free selfies.

Maybe Kylie thought traveling in a large group to an island during the pandemic was a bad look. But maybe not.

According to Elle, Kim was well prepared for a party during the pandemic and the inevitable birthday trip backlash. The reality-star-turned-future-lawyer claimed she “made” all guests “take precautions before the trip.”

On Instagram, she wrote, “After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.”

Also noted by the publication, Kylie was in Houston at the time of Kim’s controversially packed party. Reportedly, the 23-year-old was with her daughter Stormi and rumored on-again boyfriend, Travis Scott, instead.

Right now, Kylie has yet to reveal the exact reason why she didn’t attend her big sister’s 40th. Although, some of the potential answers seem obvious, fair, and logical, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

But I wonder if Kim agrees.
