Did Kanye West really call Kim Kardashian the devil?
By Cody Schultz
2020 has been quite the tumultuous year for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West but did the rapper truly call Kim his devil in a newly released letter?
Kanye West has had quite a lot to say about his wife Kim Kardashian and her famous family in 2020 and, unfortunately, not everything Kanye has blasted out across Twitter has been the most positive of remarks.
We all can recall when Kanye infamously claimed Kim tried to lock him up or when he put her and his mother-in-law Kris Jenner on blast for not answering his calls. It wasn’t a bright spot for the couple in any way, but the pair seem to have put the incident behind them and move on in the months that have followed.
Perhaps that is why fans have been caught by surprise by a new image that has surfaced in which Kanye refers to Kim Kardashian as his devil. The card said to have been written by Kanye has the internet buzzing, but it is legitimate or yet another internet hoax?
Did Kanye West really call Kim Kardashian the devil?
Interestingly, the letter circulating the internet in which Kanye West refers to Kim as his devil is indeed part of a poem Kayne wrote to Kim years ago for her 30th birthday just as they first started seeing one another.
Not only did Kanye refer to Kim as his devil, but he also used the poem to refer to her as his hell and his jail — which we have to admit don’t seem to be the most romantic ways of professing one’s feelings.
As written by Kanye in his intriguing poem to Kim:
"“You’re my devil, you’re my angelYou’re my Heaven, you’re my HellYou’re my now, you’re my foreverYou’re my freedom, you’re my jail.”"

If the poem’s verses sound familiar, it’s because the poem written by Kanye for Kim was used as lyrics for Kayne’s song “Lost In The World.”
"“Kanye couldn’t come up with some of the lyrics but then realized he had then in a poem he had written me that was my birthday card he gave me for my 30th birthday,” Kim wrote on Twitter revealing the story behind the song. “He took the poem he wrote me and made it the song. I keep everything!”"
While Kanye also refers to Kim as his. angel, Heaven, and freedom it’s quite uneasy to see him refer to Kim as his devil, Hell, and jail at the top of their relationship. Some might say the poem even foreshadowed the feelings he would harbor for years before unleashing them during his Twitter tirade.
Kanye West makes fun of Kim Kardashian’s “little hands”
As if Kanye’s interesting choices of words weren’t enough of a head-scratcher, the card on which he wrote the poem for Kim was accompanied by a series of drawings that have raised many eyebrows.
As seen in Kim’s tweet below, at the center of the illustration are stick figure versions of Kanye and Kim who are surrounded by luxury items including a Birkin Bag (or Berkin Bag as Kanye refers to it), a jet, and a yacht. The drawing is also accompanied by a cheap shot at what labels to be Kim’s “little hands.”

In all honesty, it’s a bit surprising Kim found the letter to be sweet and that she held onto it all these years as it reads more like a page from Regina George’s burn book than as a loving birthday card. Something even fans have pointed out.
“I would be so pissed if I got this from a dude I was talking to. I’d throw it back in their face and walk away,” wrote one fan in describing how they’d receive if a partner gave them the card. Others seemed to recognize it as a sweet gesture for many the jury seems to still be out.
