In wake of the news of Meghan Markle’s miscarriage, the royal family is said to be in a state of “great sadness” and is sending support to Meghan & Harry.

On Nov. 25, Meghan Markle openly shared her miscarriage experience via an op-ed. published by The New York Times entitled “The Losses We Share.” In the powerful piece, Meghan candidly discusses the moment in which she realized she was losing the child she was carrying at the time — a moment she and Prince Harry had kept private until now:

"“Make breakfast. Feed the dogs. Take vitamins. Find that missing sock. Pick up the rogue crayon that rolled under the table. Throw my hair in a ponytail before getting my son from his crib. After changing his diaper, I felt a sharp cramp. I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right. I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.”"

While Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and the royal family have not been on the best of terms in recent months, the royals are rallying behind Meghan and Harry in wake of the heartbreaking news surrounding the loss of the couple’s second child.

In wake of Meghan’s heartbreaking loss, the royal family is said to, understandably, be in a great state of sadness as they process the couple’s loss.

As a source revealed to Us Weekly, “There is a great sadness around the royal family for Harry and Meghan,” adding that Buckingham Palace has noted the loss is a “deeply personal matter” for the royal family.

The sentiment was echoed by Harry’s uncle Earl Charles Spencer, who noted he “can’t imagine the agony for any couple of losing a child in this way,” during an appearance on UK talk show Lorraine.  “It’s so very, very sad,” he added, “all thoughts with them today.”

Despite their differences, family is still family and it’s great to see that the family is putting feuds aside in order to take time to process the loss and support Meghan and Harry at this difficult time.

Among those said to have been the biggest supporter of the couple has been Harry’s father, Prince Charles. As Us Weekly revealed, “Prince Charles has been supporting Harry and Meghan during their time of grief.”

It should be of no surprise to hear that Charles has been the member of the royal family Harry and Meghan have leaned heaviest upon. We imagine his support has been a true light in the storm the couple has been weathering and hope the rest of the royal family falls in line to lift Meghan and Harry up during these rough times.
