Kendall Jenner one-upped Taylor Swift on Instagram in a big way

Taylor Swift might have had a big year; however, Kendall Jenner had an even better one and managed to one-up Taylor in a major way on Instagram in 2020!
2020 might not have been the best of years for most, but there is absolutely no denying that Taylor Swift managed to make sweet, sweet lemonade out of the many lemons 2020 has thrown our way. Over the course of the year, Taylor managed to surprise fans with not one but two new albums which have each received strong praise among critics and helped make Taylor one of the most-talked-about artists of the year.
There is no denying that Taylor has enjoyed one of the strongest years in her career in 2020; however, there is one celebrity who seems to have had a bigger year — at least when it comes to one major measurable metric: Instagram followers.
Kendall Jenner rained on Taylor’s Swift parade in 2020
When it comes to Instagram, the Kardashian-Jenner family has always been among the most-followed celebrities across the social media platform with millions of followers between the various members of the family. The various women in the Kardashian-Jenner clan continue to make their mark on Instagram and in 2020 Kendall Jenner officially managed to claw her way past Taylor Swift and into the Top 10 most followed celebrities on the social media platform.
In 2019, Taylor Swift boasted a following of 131 million followers which was two million more than Kendall’s 129 million followers. Given the success Taylor enjoyed in 2020, one would assume Taylor’s Instagram follower count would have continued to skyrocket in 2020; however, I was instead Kendall who enjoyed the bigger jump in followers this year!
While Taylor tacked on an additional 11 million followers across 2020, Kendall managed to gain a whopping 15 million followers helping to push her past Taylor Swift on the list of most-followed celebrities of 2020.
