Royals fear Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will leak royal secrets

When news first broke that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had decided to strike a deal with Netflix to produce both scripted and unscripted programs, the couple’s deal was quickly met with a polarizing reaction.

While fans of the couple were excited to see them taking new steps in setting up for their future and the prospective projects could yield, the royal family and those connected to the family weren’t at all pleased with Meghan and Harry’s decision to get in bed with the company behind The Crown — which has never been a favorite among the family.

Now, it seems the royal family is shaking in their boots out of fear Meghan and Harry might choose to leak the family’s dirty little secrets to Netflix under the multi-million dollar deal.

According to the Sunday Times, via The Express, the royal family has become more and more concerned with just what exactly Netflix might try to squeeze out of Meghan and Harry under their lucrative deal.

In simplest terms, the royal family seems to be worried Meghan and Harry might choose to leak the family’s dirty little secrets under pressure from Netflix to produce royal-themed programming.

"“For that kind of money, Harry and Meghan might be expected to include royal revelations in the highbrow, uplifting content they have promised,” the Sunday Times theorizes. “A nature documentary and an animated series about inspiring women are in the pipeline, but to what extent they may be pressured to provide royal-themed programming remains the stuff of nightmares in London.”"

It’s a legitimate theory, after all, we do imagine Netflix would love for Meghan and Harry to spill some secrets and share some insider information to help either inspire the upcoming seasons of The Crown or as inspiration for a new royal-themed program. Can you just imagine the buzz such a project could create for Netflix or the eyes it might draw to the projects?

While there is indeed cause for the royal family to be concerned, we can’t imagine Meghan and Harry entered the deal with any malice toward the royal family. Sure they might not speak out against The Crown and its portrayal of the royal family, but we can’t see the pair selling the family out for the sake of a payday.
