More than a decade ago, Ryan Seacrest took a calculated risk on a little reality show called Keeping Up with the Kardashians. It was a bold move at the time, but one that ended up being among one of Seacrest’s most successful career moves.
With help from Seacrest and his partner-in-crime Kris Jenner, KUWTK emerged as one of the most successful reality series of all-time which helped to turn the Kardashian family into some of the most powerful celebrities in all of the industry.
Much like the Kardashians, Seacrest was met with bittersweet feelings when the decision was made in September 2020 to bring the show to an end calling it an incredible run when speaking about the decision with his co-host Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
In the months that have passed since the Kardashians announced their plans to bring Keeping Up with the Kardashians to an end after its upcoming 20th season, co-creator Ryan Seacrest has been rather quiet about what the future will hold for the Kardashians once the final episode airs. However, in a new interview, he seems to suggest the decision to end the series is the needed step for the family to evolve after 14 years and 20 seasons of the show.
Ryan Seacrest claims KUWTK ending will help the Kardashians evolve
During a new interview with PEOPLE, Ryan Seacrest took some time to reflect upon the Kardashian family’s decision to ink a new deal with Hulu.
While Seacrest made it clear last year that he’s sad to see the show end, he now admits the decision to end the series to strike a new deal with Hulu will give the family the chance to evolve and try new things they couldn’t otherwise do on the long-running E! series.

“My guess would be they want to evolve a little bit from the show that everybody has seen and do something differently,” Seacrest revealed.
Not only are the Kardashians ready to evolve with their new Hulu deal, but it seems they already have a wealth of ideas for ways to test new things they previously could only dream about on KUWTK.
“I think they have a lot of ideas and a lot of things that they may have not had a chance to do with Keeping Up with the Kardashians, because it was such a strong franchise and people wanted what they saw from the family. And that’s what they got for 20 seasons,”
Do you think Ryan Seacrest is correct in his evaluation that the Kardashians are moving on from Keeping Up with the Kardashians after 20 seasons out of a desire to evolve and bring viewers something new? Any theories on what ideas the family might be working on for their first Hulu project?
