Kim Kardashian is a seasoned pro when handling not-so-nice words thrown in her direction on social media. However, she won’t stand for it when those jabs are directed at her children. And who could blame her, really?
According to People, the mom-of-four recently shared a landscape painted by her oldest daughter North West to Instagram, proudly calling her a “little artist.” Quickly, many fans began questioning whether or not the notably impressive painting was actually the seven-year-old’s handy work. And many remain unconvinced.
As noted by People, one Twitter user shared Kim Kardashian’s Instagram Story, writing, “I’m supposed to go but i can’t stop thinking about how North West did not paint this.” When Kim got wind of all the negative chatter, she made it known she didn’t like what she was seeing from the masses. The 41-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians took to her Instagram Story once again, reposting the nasty message–minus the user’s name–and chiming in on everyone’s doubts.
Kim Kardashian responds to questions about North’s painting
In a lengthy clap-back, Kim Kardashian wrote,
"DON’T PLAY WITH ME WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILDREN!!! My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured. North worked incredibly hard on her painting with took several weeks to complete. As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone."
Kim went on to say she was upset to see online discussions among adults about whether or not her child was the true artist of the painting. She concluded her vividly worked-up statement with:
"I’m seeing op-ed pieces in the media and social media from grown adults breaking down whether or not my child actually painted this! How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!?!?! Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT!!!"
As noted by People, Kim Kardashian has already faced accusations that North had copied someone else’s work in the past. Still, Kim stands by her claims that her daughter’s work is her daughter’s alone, noting in the past that if anyone else should get the credit for little Northie’s natural creativity, it’s her creative father, Kanye West.
