Kylie Jenner faces backlash for showing off ‘spoiled’ Stormi’s shoe collection

Kylie Jenner is once again being slammed for Stormi Webster’s extravagant (and not socially distanced) birthday, but now it’s because of some very pricey gifts.
As Forbes‘ highest-earning entertainer, Kylie Jenner can pretty much afford anything she wants. She’s not shy about sharing her lavish life and what her booming business affords her–and her 3-year-old. However, not everyone online is impressed with what she’s showing off to the world right now, especially since the makeup mogul seems to be bragging about just how “spoiled” Stormi Webster really is.
According to Yahoo! Life, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is being slammed for showing off little Stormi’s new shoe collection, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic where many are in financial trouble.
Stormi’s shoe collection
On Instagram, the 23-year-old influencer recently shared footage from Stormi’s birthday celebration, including some shots of the gifts in question. Among the expensive presents, fans were shocked to see the toddler-sized Nike sneaker collection. 17 pairs, to be exact.
As Yahoo! Life notes, the jaw-dropping but oh-so-teensy spread included mini Air Jordans, Nike Dunks, Off-White x Rubber Dunks, and Stussy x Air Force 1s, each costing upwards of $100. And a few pairs priced at around a reported $300.
In the caption, Kylie Jenner wrote, “My girl is so spoiled.” According to Yahoo! Life, Stormi’s free shoes from Nike were worth somewhere around $1,500, at least. While many fans agreed that yes, Stormi is definitely “so spoiled” for this, they voiced not being okay with Kylie so casually bragging about it. Many reminded the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star that during these troubled times, some children are lucky “to have one decent pair of shoes.” Some called the proud mom’s display “insensitive.”
Kylie Jenner is not the only one being slammed for Stormi’s new shoes. Nike is catching major heat for sending the shoes to the toddler in the first place. On social media, many have been questioning Nike’s priorities. And it’s not just because the 3-year-old will soon be outgrowing all 17 pairs. Mostly, people are asking why the iconic company would so eagerly send 17 pairs of free kicks to the only child of an influential money-maker, instead of to families financially struggling during the pandemic. And that remains a very good question.
Kylie Jenner has yet to respond to the backlash.
