Is Selena Gomez still friends with organ donor Francia Raisa?

Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa were seemingly extremely close after the kidney transplant surgery, but their friendship has been noticeably quiet in recent years. There are actually rumors the two were no longer friends at all!

After staying away from the limelight for months, Selena Gomez revealed she had a kidney transplant in 2017 due to her lupus. And the donor was her friend Francia Raisa. Both Gomez and Raisa appeared together in several interviews after.

Gomez and Raisa seemed very close, and surely this life-changing (literally) experience only cemented their bond further, right? Well, you would think so, but that doesn’t seem to be the case between the two, unfortunately.

After an interview with Raisa surfaced, many believe Raisa didn’t really want to give Gomez her kidney. It does seem like Raisa felt rushed and pressured to help Gomez, just look at all the comments under the video.

In a more recent interview from 2021, Raisa discusses how NBC should have apologized to organ donors and “not just Selena” for their rude comments on Saved by the Bell.

Notice how other than to say “not just Selena,” Raisa doesn’t bring up her friend at all? It’s easy to see why rumors of a feud have sparked recently.

What’s more, neither Gomez nor Raisa has addressed the rumors. If you love someone and are hearing false rumors, wouldn’t you want to put it all to rest and come out saying they’re false?

According to Radar, Raisa stopped talking to Gomez when Gomez began to drink alcohol in 2018. Raisa saw this as a slap to the face. After the huge sacrifice on Raisa’s part, I’m sure it hurt to see how Gomez was not being more careful.

While we have no proof Raisa and Gomez are no longer friends, all signs point to it!
