Scott Disick opens up on why he broke up with Sofia Richie in new KUWTK clip

As the final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians (KUWTK) approaches, fans of the show are left speculating what exactly the last season will cover. Will we see Kim Kardashian and Kanye West process their divorce? Is there a possibility that we might see Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson discuss baby number two? Or maybe we’ll see something entirely different.

While we might have to hold on until the first episode to find out, we may not have to wait too long to see how Scott Disick, father of Kourtney Kardashian’s three children, feels about his break up with Sofia Richie after two years of dating.

Why did Scott Disick and Sofia Richie break up?

In a sneak peek video, Disick opens up to his former partner, Kourtney Kardashian, about why his relationship with the 22-year-old model didn’t seem to work out; believing that Sofia Richie may not have realized that dating him ‘came with a lot of baggage’ and was more difficult than she may have initially thought.

He also notes that his unclear relationship with Kourtney Kardashian played a major factor in the breakup as well. Disick states:

"It’s definitely not easy that we (himself and Kourtney Kardashian) see each other, work together, and are friends. […] But I’ve always been clear that my priority has been my children; my life with them, and I even put it out there that taking care of you is one of my priorities."

Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian first met at a party in 2006 and when the pair gave birth to their first child, Mason Disick, three years later, the couple knew that they would be in each other’s lives for the long run.

However, things quickly grew complicated as Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian continued to have two more children, Penelope Disick and Reign Disick, even though the pair never married. The couple tried to work on their relationship for the sake of their children but figured it was better that they go separate ways.

A few flings and failed relationships later, Disick and Richie became a couple in 2017 and the pair would even go on family vacations with the rest of the Kardashian family, which marked Disick’s intentions to keep Richie around for the long-term. Even so, as we know, the relationship was short-lived. Ultimately, Disick cites ‘neglect’ as the main reason for the break-up.

"I realized that Sofia has been an absolute trooper, but the truth is, anybody dating somebody is going to feel neglected when their significant other is spending more time with their ex than with them."

Despite all the time Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian spend together, it is clear that  Kardashian doesn’t want to get with him any time soon. Kourtney Kardashian is currently romantically linked with American musician, Travis Barker, while Disick is single.

Hopefully, we will see the pair come to some sort of closure in the last season of KUWTK beginning March 18.
