Khloe Kardashian responds to body-shamers with emotional message and unedited underwear videos
Khloe Kardashian has had enough of the body-shaming, and I can’t say I blame her in the slightest. The 36-year-old reality star was catapulted into the spotlight alongside her family in her early 20s, and being compared to her sisters has never been easy.
Recently, Khloe came under fire after a photo of her started circulating the internet of her wearing a bikini in non-ideal lightning. Honestly, I think she still looked great–she’s been working out for years and it shows. However, because the image wasn’t perfect, her team called for it to be taken down. Once fans got wind of this, they criticized the move. For someone who claims to be so body-positive, why would Khloe take down a picture that shows her real body? And seriously, it’s not even a bad photo.
Khloe Kardashian addresses unedited photo release
Well, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is speaking out, and it’s actually a pretty sad response. Taking to her Instagram, Khloe shared a series of videos, including an Instagram Live, in which she wears underwear to show off her toned body. If you’ve been following the mom-of-one over the years, you’ll know she’s certainly in great shape. There’s no doubt about that.
In her post, Khloe is adamant about showing her followers that she still looks great without edits or a filter, writing in her caption, “PS Yes I did a live to show you all this isn’t photoshopped.”
Khloe Kardashian also added a few pages of text, which reminds her fans that she’s been dealing with body image issues her entire life, and the internet doesn’t do anything to help. In one part of her message, she writes:
"In truth, the pressure, constant ridicule and judgment my entire life to be perfect and to meet other’s standards of how I should look has been too much to bear. “Khloe is the fat sister.” “Khloe is the ugly sister.” “Her dad must not be her real dad because she looks so different.” “The only way she could have lost that weight must have been from surgery.” Should I go on?"
Khloe continues by explaining how much the negativity has affected her, which is not hard to believe. While the rest of her sisters certainly face their fair share of hate for various reasons, Khloe has been bashed for years over the way she looks. It’s not fair. This post is a cry for help, and it makes her true fans, including me, so sad to see.
Fortunately, KoKo received tons of positive comments on her post, including from family members, friends, and fans alike. Kylie Jenner responded with, “love you soooo much,” while Ariana Grande commented, “love u & your heart.”
Khloe shouldn’t have to explain herself to anyone. If I saw a photo of myself that I found unflattering, I definitely wouldn’t want it shared around the internet. I hope the reality star has the support she needs getting through all the unfair criticism from the internet and she’s able to start to heal. I’m sure that’s all her fans want!
