Perhaps, fans of the show are just not ready to say goodbye yet? The family reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians has been on the air for the past 13 years and has truly become the largest part of the Kardashian-Jenner brand.

In September 2020, it was announced that KUWTK season 20 would mark the last installment, and one may have expected views to spike for the final season. However, a certain episode proves otherwise.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians ratings

Reddit fans of the Kardashian family show did some digging around and shared that the recent KUWTK episode titled “Winners Take All” was the worst-performing episode in the show’s history with around 540,000 views, and we can’t help but wonder why. Let’s take a closer look into this episode.

A reason why this episode may have had low views could be due to its synopsis that may have not been intriguing enough to pull viewers in. Here’s the description below:

"Kim and Khloe think old flames are brewing between Kourtney and Scott and take it upon themselves to set them up on a romantic date. The Kardashian girls challenge the Jenners to an obstacle course to determine once and for all which side of the family is more athletic. Kris and Corey agree to abstain from sex as an experiment for Poosh."

The episode included a fun Kardashian obstacle course, a hilarious segment with the iconic Kris Jenner, and a semi-romantic date between Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick. Sounds like a pretty interesting episode and honestly, it doesn’t sound any different than many others.

So, why did this episode perform differently than the rest? Let’s take an even closer look.

The episode aired April 1 at its regular 8:00 p.m. ET time, and it didn’t seem to be in competition with other popular television shows. Additionally, this was the third episode into KUWTK season 20, so the date and time for the episode couldn’t be the cause either.

After some further digging, we found that the episodes of KUWTK season 20 have altogether been the lowest of the franchise’s history as well, with none of the episodes making it to 1 million viewers. The prior 19th season also seemed to struggle with making it to the millions.

Ultimately, it seems as though Keeping Up With the Kardashians may have truly run its course, and fans of the show are outgrowing it. Or maybe fans couldn’t bear seeing Skourt not being a thing any longer, and they knew the particular episode would give false hope. (I feel you.)

Perhaps, this episode was just an anomaly.

In any case, we hope things turn up for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians final season’s viewership, and hopefully, these low numbers don’t transfer over to their upcoming Hulu show.
