Kate Middleton – aka the Duchess of Cambridge and wife of Prince William – has been CUT from the guest list at the Princess Diana statue unveiling on July 1 – which is Diana’s 60th birthday FYI – amid reports that the Duke of Cambridge and his estranged brother, Prince Harry have been “at each other’s throats”.

This means that the feuding brothers will be without their “peacemaker” on Thursday, July 1, so celebrations may very well be strained.

Kate Middleton CUT from Princess Diana statue unveiling

Following in Meghan Markle’s footsteps, Kate Middleton is reportedly staying home for the ceremony, after Kensington Palace officials announced on Friday that Prince’s William and Harry will be attending the event alongside “close family of Diana, Princess of Wales, members of the statue committee, the sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, and garden designer Pip Morrison”.

The statement made no mention of the Duchess of Cambridge so it’s safe to assume she’s one of the many guests on the list who’s been given the boot, in favor of a much smaller and “intimate” celebration for the late Diana, the Princess of Wales’ statue unavailing.

The original celebration plans were said to be a grand affair with over 100 guests invited to attend, however, with recent covid cases increasing in the UK, Prince William and Harry were forced to “scale back” the event, and rescheduled the bigger celebration for a much later date, in September.

Recently, Robert Lacey – who wrote the explosive book Battle of Brothers which looks into the feud between the pair – claimed that a friend of the pair had told him: “They were at each other’s throats as fiercely as ever.”

"“The rage and anger between those two has grown so incredibly deep. Too many harsh and wounding things have been said.”"

Duchess, Kate has previously been described as the Royal Family’s “peacemaker”, so Kate’s possible absence at the unveiling of Diana’s statue could definitely do more damage than good to the brother’s relationship.

And of course, Kate Middleton must also be disappointed to be cut from the guest list as she is said to have been involved in the project since conception, though no doubt she’ll respect her husband’s decision. A royal source told the Mirror, earlier this month: “The Duchess has seen this project evolve from its conception and now to the finished article and undoubtedly wants to be there to support her husband.”
