Kelly Ripa thrills with poolside Fourth of July photo

Kelly Ripa is big-time raking in the likes as a celebratory poolside snap of her marks Fourth of July on Instagram.

The 50-year-old daytime TV host, fresh from a piggy-back snap for dad Joe Ripa’s birthday, has appeared in a new shot to mark the annual calendar date, but it wasn’t on Kelly’s own Instagram that fans got her chilling by the pool.

On Sunday, syndicated talk show Live! With Kelly and Ryan updated to wish viewers a happy Independence Day, with the video-edited image also including 46-year-old co-host Ryan Seacrest.

See the photo below. It likely came with a nifty editor – while Kelly and Ryan were seated poolside, they’d both been digitally edited into the setting, one coming with a backyard pool, giant white parasols adorned with firework additions, plus a clearly fake burning fire. Kelly was toasting a marshmallow as she sat in a red chair and wearing a colorful skirt, plus a red-white-and-blue top.

American Idol host Ryan, also shoving his marshmallow towards the camera, was all smiles in a black outfit, with animated text reading: “HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!” in colors, aptly, representing the U.S. flag.

A caption from the show Kelly’s hosted since 2001 alerted fans to a special episode tomorrow, reading: “Happy 4th of July! Tomorrow is our big Stars and Stripes Celebration show!” See the comments after the snap.

Kelly Ripa’s Italian Heritage

Comments quickly poured in, largely seeing fans shout the “Happy 4th” back out, although one grumpy user did complain that the image is “Photoshopped.”

Ripa might have been born in the U.S., but the New Jersey native is actually three-quarters Italian, also one-quarter Irish. In 2020, the star made The Inquisitr‘s headlines for giving a nod to her roots by praising the way in which a small Italian village was dealing with the global pandemic – narrow alleys and traditional street scenes were shared to the blonde’s Instagram, with Kelly praising the high spirits as locals played music from their balconies while maintaining social distancing.

Kelly also comes with European links via 50-year-old Riverdale star husband Mark Consuelos, born in Spain. The couple is parents to children Michael, Joaquin, and Lola Grace.

For the Fourth of July last year, Kelly shared a 1974 throwback showing her as a kid and celebrating the holiday. “May your trike match your wagon!” the star wrote as the image showed her all cute in a red swimsuit and with a friend.
