Kristin Cavallari sparks racism storm in 4th of July swimsuit

Kristin Cavallari likely did not intend to launch a race debate as she celebrated the 4th of July in a skimpy swimsuit and Daisy Dukes.

The 35-year-old The Hills alum and Uncommon James founder was all smiles on Sunday, with a photo on her Instagram shouting out Cali babe vibes, friends, and Independence Day.

Posting for her 4.1 million followers, the former MTV face posed with her nearest and dearest from the back of a pick-up truck, where two big flags shouted out the U.S.A. – similar came from a caption that read: “‘Merica.” It’s never straightforward on Kristin’s Instagram, though.

Kristin, who lives in L.A. and arguably has the all-American dream as part of identity thanks to the L.A.-based series she starred on, had posed showing off her gorgeous figure while in a cut-out and brown swimsuit, one she paired with shredded denim shorts. The mom of three, fresh from the 2021 launch of her Uncommon Beauty brand, smiled in shades, with five others around her adding to the cheerful atmosphere.

Cavallari, recently slammed for a bikini selfie with her son – fans don’t dig the star blurring out her kids’ faces – now sees a joking comment leading into a bit of a storm. “This feels racist,” the fan wrote with a cry-face emoji. While some caught the humor, others seemed to have completely missed it.

“I’ve never seen her support of black lives being treated unjustly on her social media…Speaks volumes,” one fan replied. See more photos after the snap.

Instagram wigs out

Jumping in, another fan replied:  “I think because the Kelley’s support Trump. Because in some people’s mind that automatically makes you racist.” For one follower, though, it was all too much. “Ahhhh so it is new levels of dumb they’ve reached in the comments,” they wrote.

Kristin did, however, manage to catch a celebrity like. Country singer Maren Morris sent her the thumbs-up, with 95,000 others also leaving one before the post was two hours old.

Notably absent in the star’s photo today were her children, although they’ve been all over her IG during a recent vacation. Cavallari shares Jaxon, Camden, and Saylor with ex Jay Cutler. The former couple made April 2020 for splitting after ten years of marriage.
