Jessica Simpson‘s husband of seven years, Eric Johnson, has made a mistake and Instagram isn’t letting it slide. The former NFL player and hubby to 41-year-old bombshell Jessica Simpson made sure to shout out his famous wife on Instagram as she rang in another year on July 10, but there was a major error as Eric made a giant blunder.

Jessica, who made 2020 headlines for turning 40 by slipping back into a 14-year-old pair of True Religion jeans, stayed quiet on her account despite celebrating a birthday, but husband Eric marked the occasion. See the hoopla below.

The Jessica Simpson Style founder was seen in throwbacks including an amusement park ride and a pouty kiss selfie with 2019-born Birdie Mae – kids Maxwell, 9 and Ace 8, also featured as the fashion mogul was honored.

Taking to his caption, Eric gushed over his wife, writing:

“Happy 39th Birthday Jess. I had too much fun with you yesterday to Instagram;). I love exploring the universe with you. You teach our kids love and strength and fun everyday and you show them ur heart no matter what.”

Also calling her an “incredible wife/partner/friend,” Eric sent his wife a “Happy Birthday babe!” as he wished her a “creative year ahead.”

When the wife is 41 and the husband is celebrating her turning 39, it’s going to raise eyebrows. Fans in the comments section are now ripping Eric apart for seemingly having no clue over Jessica’s age. “Isn’t she 41?” the top comment reads. Another fan, meanwhile, wrote: “Wasn’t she born in 1980?”

“39? I thought 41 yo,” a third chimed in, adding cry-face emoji. Others, however, appeared to miss the error as they sent the Dukes of Hazzard actress all the best on her special day.

Earlier this month – and without any awkward errors – Eric marked seven years since he and Jessica tied the knot. Taking to Instagram with photos, he wrote:

“Jessica, I love you. 7 years into marriage and you still make me laugh just as hard as day one,” adding: “I had fun yesterday celebrating us. Our kids bring us so much joy and they could not be luckier to have such a fiercely empowered, unique, beautiful mama.”

Jessica and Eric met in 2010, waiting four years to get hitched. The star’s former marriage to Nick Lachey returned to the media lens last year with the release of Simpson’s Open Book memoir, one documenting her failed marriage, childhood sex abuse, addiction battles and recovery.

Also a talking point is the 100 pounds Jessica dropped after welcoming third baby Birdie Mae two years ago.
