Maria Menounos is spreading the Dunkin’ Donuts joy as she reveals being a former employee of the sweet treats giant. The 43-year-old media personality today shared the exciting news that she’s partnered up with the company once sending her paychecks, although it’s a more high-profile deal this time around as the former E! News face goes on Instagram Live to promote all things donut.
Maria Menounos reveals former Dunkin’ days
Scroll for the photo. Maria, whose 2021 has been a struggle with the tragic loss of mom Litsa to both brain cancer and COVID, posted an upbeat snap on Wednesday. Her Instagram is now donut central thanks to a photo showing her shot close-up, smiling and with closed eyes as she took in the sweet smell of a chocolate-glazed donut balancing on top of a hot takeout coffee cup.
Maria, caught in the sunlight and pulling the face everyone knows when they’ve just grabbed a cheeky donut, came complete with text reading: “RUN WITH TEAM DUNKIN'” as she told fans to “catch my live event on Dunkin’s IG on 7/14 at 3pm PT 6pm ET.”
Taking to her caption, Maria offered a “fun fact.” Namely, that she used to be a “team member at Dunkin!” as she called it “good times.”
Continuing, she added: “If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to run with Team Dunkin’, now’s your chance: catch my IG Live with franchisee team member Molly Gruber to get the scoop on careers at Dunkin’ restaurants. ✨Protip ✨tune in for a chance to score a $100 Dunkin’ gift card! Sweet. See you all soon!”
Fans, jumping for the donut emoji, can’t wait, although one user had to ruin the party as they asked the podcast host why she was promoting “harmful” foods after they claimed she’s been advocating a sugar-free lifestyle.
Dunkin’ Donuts is currently on a massive recruitment drive, one aiming to snap up 20,000 new employees. The brand enlisting Maria to help the drive made Ad Week‘s headlines recently, although Maria has been linked to the fast-snack king-pin before.
Back in 2014, Maria fronted the company in its dark roast coffee campaign. Meanwhile, rival coffee giant Starbucks has been sharpening its marketing skills by enlisting sitcom star Kaley Cuoco for its campaigns.
