Kendall Jenner is receiving mixed feedback to a daring, but ultimately very stylish, look. The 25-year-old supermodel, an unofficial ambassador of the #FreeTheNipple movement, is fresh from rocking a sheer tube top, one that made headlines as 23-year-old sister Kylie Jenner had worn the exact same getup not too long ago.

Earlier this week, photos of Kendall in a strapless, check-print and see-through top paired with matching pants went viral. Fan accounts and media outlets, however, were quick to pick up on the sister copy-cat deal. Now, it’s turned into a “who wore it better” – and, it would seem, some backlash.

The gorgeous snaps came with a wavy bob hairdo, smoldering smokey eye makeup, plus Kendall going braless for a cheeky sheer finish. A swipe to the right showed the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star nearly full-length as she highlighted her tiny waist and long legs while in her Charlotte Knowles ensemble. A $990 bag from designer brand The Row completed the look as Kendall wrote: “One night only.”

While fans on @kendalljennercloset were quick to ask: “Does anyone remember Kylie wearing this a few months ago?” reporters at The Daily Mail were able to confirm it. The newspaper shared photos of Kylie Skin founder Kylie in the exact same outfit, although the youngest KarJenner had worn something beneath the top.

Here’s where some criticism came in. Kendall, who is known for her itty-bitty crop tops and loving the sheer finish, was bluntly told to “cover up” by one fan. Another said: “I think Kendall is gorgeous but too much on show,” adding: “So Kylie wore it better, more respectful.”

“How to make people uncomfortable 101,” a third said. A user based in the U.S. questioned “public decency laws” as they went conservative, saying both sisters “lack public decorum.” Zero complaints on Kendall’s Instagram, though, where the model was called a “dream” and even gained a like from actress Vanessa Hudgens.

Kendall’s trendsetting ways now see her fronting some of the world’s biggest brands, not limited to Calvin Klein and Burberry – for the latter, the catwalk queen has helped “lift” the company to pre-pandemic levels.

Earlier this year, Kendall showed she’s more than just a pretty face, though, launching her 818 tequila brand.
