What are Kourtney Kardashian’s top tips for mindful eating and weight loss?
Kourtney Kardashian, 42, revealed, on social media earlier this week, that for the past 10-days she and boyfriend Travis Barker, 45, have been quarantining – presumably either after testing positive for the coronavirus or coming under contact with someone who has – and while the couple hybernated away from the rest of the world they had a lot of free time to binge films, eat smores, and give each other new looks, with the mom-of-four even trusting her Blink-182 drummer boyfriend to give her a haircut, which she debuted on Thursday … while naked.
During this time, it seems the mom-of-four was also busy at work and has had the time to come up with some top tips for mindfulness eating and weight loss. I guess 10 days of quarantine binging on smores was too much for the 42-year-old reality star and has got the Poosh founder thinking of ways to get back into a healthy routine.
In a brilliant article on Poosh, Dr. Adrienne Youdim talks about “mindless eating” and the true reasons why one might find themselves eating, with many finding that ” true hunger” is not the root cause, instead – according to the article anyway – we often eat because we’re “sad, bored, anxious or angry” and food fills a temporary void, which sooner or later makes us pack on the pounds, unfortunately.
So what can you do to avoid mindless eating?
Kourtney Kardashian shares tips on mindful eating
According to the health and wellness site, Poosh, run by Kourtney Kardashian, the first step to stop yourself from mindless eating is to “check in with yourself” and try to be aware of the feeling and emotions coursing through you at that particular moment, ask yourself “What is it that I am feeling right now?”
It’s important to know what is “driving our hunger” in order to “allow us to address” the issue as Dr. Adrienne Youdim points out on the Kourtney Kardashian-led site, “having awareness allows us to give ourselves what we are truly hungry for in that moment.” The professional continued:
"“When we nourish our bodies with what is needed, we are less likely to feel heavy, bloated, and lethargic after we eat. Plus, we’re less likely to gain weight. We can use our food for proper energy, vitality, and nourishment, just as it’s intended. And when we choose to indulge, we can do that mindfully too. Doing this allows us to truly enjoy the decadence so that we feel the satisfaction of a mouth-watering meal or treat.”"
So according to Kourtney Kardashian, by being mindful with what we eat and recognizing the true drive for our “hunger” we’re “less likely to gain weight”, which is sound advice, but having recently discovered Kylie Jenner’s chocolate-chip cookie recipe we think we’ll be finding it quite hard to eat those in moderation…
