Kylie Jenner reveals ridiculous amount of time it takes to do her makeup and fans are reacting
When it comes to makeup, Kylie Jenner reigns the best out of her family of famous ladies. Fans of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star will know that she started her business, Kylie Cosmetics, back in 2014 and it’s become quite the empire over the years. In 2018, Forbes estimated the brand to be worth a whopping $900 million, and Kylie has only expanded into other ventures since then.
It goes without saying that Kylie knows makeup, but a recent reveal about her getting ready routine has fans seriously questioning her. As reported by Just Jared, the mom-of-one dropped the bombshell during a new YouTube video alongside her makeup artist Ariel Tejada. When discussing how they work together and the overall process, Kylie revealed that it takes three and a half hours for her MUA to complete her looks.
The reveal came after Kylie admitted she doesn’t always give Ariel her full attention when he’s doing her makeup, which she explained with: “I work on my phone all day. The only way I’m gonna get through three and a half hours of makeup with you is if I entertain myself a little.”

The main question people seem to have is what exactly does Ariel do that takes a full three and a half hours? Kylie’s looks tend to be pretty standard. One commenter really summed up the confusion with this:
"“What exactly do they do that takes three hours??? I don’t get it, it’s not like we see some crazy complicated eye looks. It’s all neutral eyes, tons of contouring and a s**t ton of blush. Like what part is taking three hours? When I want to do a quick makeup look, that is my quick look. Neutral everything. Takes like 20 minutes. Wtf is taking 3 hours?”"
Other Redditors came with the shade by remarking that Kylie’s makeup never looks good enough to be worth three and a half hours. One wrote, “And it doesn’t even look that good… Kylie needs a new makeup artist.” Another pointed out that Kylie still uses filters even after getting her makeup done.
The general reaction seems to be shock when it comes to Kylie’s big reveal. I really can’t help but wonder now how long her sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian take to get their makeup done, as they are both super into cosmetics as well.
