Kim Kardashian opens up on what Kanye West has taught her six months after filing for divorce
Despite going through a divorce, Kim Kardashian continues to take the high road and do nothing but support and show respect for her estranged husband Kanye West.
The 40-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star filed for divorce back in February 2021, which came as a shock to many people. Although the two stars no doubt had their fair share of problems — more than the average couple, I’d argue — Kim’s followers did not think she would close that chapter in the end. But ultimately, separating was what was best for the mom-of-four, and I think everyone would agree.
As Kim shared during an episode of KUWTK this year, she felt that she was in a place in her life where she wanted to choose happiness and be with someone she had more things in common with. Of course, Kim and Kanye were an iconic couple in the media, but it seemed the makeup mogul wanted more than that. And we completely understand!
So where do Kim and Kanye stand about six months after the reality star filed for divorce? Well, they’re seemingly keeping pretty close. For the latest, Kim spoke highly of her ex during an appearance on the We Are Supported By… podcast this week, crediting Kanye for some of her confidence.
As reported by Insider, Kim dished on how she was able to get past her “people pleasing” stage of her life, explaining:
"“I got to a point — and maybe it was being in a relationship with Kanye for a decade and someone that absolutely didn’t care about likeability factor or what any of perception of him was as long as he was true to himself. That taught me so much in the best way of just being me and truly not care as much about what other people thought.”"
It’s certainly nice to see Kim and Kanye on good terms after splitting earlier this year. Kim’s podcast appearance comes soon after she attended a second listening party for Kanye’s album Donda, which fans took notice of. Amid their divorce, Kim continues to show up for the father of her children, and if nothing else, it’s a mature thing to do.
