Khloe Kardashian has always been transparent about her struggles with her body image and the pressures of the media to look a certain way. In past episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, she has discussed how she often feels unattractive compared to her more petite sisters and also explained how she often feels that her weight is the butt of everyone’s joke.

Being that she has wrestled with body image for so long, many thought that she would be able to properly sympathize with people struggling with their weight. However, much to everyone’s surprise, this was not the case in one particular interview.

Kardashian is currently facing backlash for an old interview where she can be seen making rather unkind comments about individuals’ bodies and their choice of dietary habits. Because of this, many are calling for her to retract the statements made in the video and are demanding an immediate apology.

Khloe Kardashian ‘body-shaming’ interview

As previously mentioned, the resurfaced video from 2019 shows Kardashian almost mocking those who are heavier in body type. And one specific comment in the interview is truly the source of many’s infuriation. Khloe Kardashian stated:

"I can’t stand people that are like eating a bucket of Haagen-Dazs ice cream and they are like “I’m so fat”. They won’t work out, they won’t drink more water […] but they’re complaining. Well, you’re always going to be in this victimized state because you’re literally not being self-aware."

People are calling out the lack of sympathy in this remark as well as the lack of awareness from Kardashian, citing that this tone-deaf comment ignores the fact many are not able to afford healthier foods or a healthier lifestyle while also ignoring the fact that the financially well-off celebrity has, allegedly, had modifications done to perfect her body into what it is today.

Still, what was still the most shocking for everyone was the knowledge that this body-shaming comment was made by someone who suffers from body image herself.

Earlier this year, Kardashian was called out for having a completely different face by media outlets and fans came to her rescue, defending her against trolls who don’t know her history. Will her fans be able to come to her defense now? We can’t help but wonder.

At the moment, Khloe Kardashian has yet to apologize for the resurfaced interview, but once or if she does, we will be sure to let you know.
