Celebs absolutely dazzled last night at the 2021 Met Gala and we couldn’t get enough of all the show-stopping looks from all of our faves.

From Lil Nas X’s stunning three-piece gold outfit to Iman’s beautiful gown to Kendall Jenner‘s elegant jeweled dress, these A-Listers absolutely slayed at this year’s event, and we couldn’t possibly forget to mention one more individual that left out jaws dropped.

Of course, we are talking about none other than Kim Kardashian who graced the iconic event covered in black from head-to-toe. Unrecognizable, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star had all eyes on her as well as her guest who, too, was covered in black.

In the midst of all those cameras flashing, many wondered whether or not that was Kanye West standing beside the KKW Beauty founder or if it was just a plus-one whose identity may never be revealed. We tell you everything to know down below.

Who did Kim Kardashian bring to the 2021 Met Gala?

According to E! News, the person standing next to Kim Kardashian at the 2021 Met Gala was not Kanye West but was instead Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia, who, most likely, was the brain behind her look of the night.

Naturally, it wasn’t too out of the ordinary to suspect West being the one behind the faceless mask. After all, during his Donda listening parties, the rapper donned a very similar face cover. However, given the fact that his relationship with his ex-wife is now facing tumultuous times, the chances of Kanye West being Kim Kardashian’s plus-one weren’t very probable in the first place.

The two are seemingly on bad terms following West’s lyric about infidelity on his song “Hurricane,” and the rapper has even unfollowed his estranged wife on Instagram. Even still, we hold on to the hope that the pair will eventually work through their issues so that they could, perhaps, one day walk side-by-side at the next Met Gala again.

Until then, we think about what could’ve been.
