Kourtney Kardashian skipped the Met Gala in support of Khloe [Report]

Though we had our fair share of Kardashian-Jenners attending this year’s Met Gala, fans still felt the absence of a few members that they didn’t get to see throughout Monday night’s event.

Kylie Jenner was one of these individuals, sitting out of this year’s iconic affair because she is expecting her second child with Travis Scott and would prefer not to overwhelm herself with such events. Rob Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian were two more missing members, however, we don’t know if either star was invited this year or in previous years.

Last but certainly not least, Kourtney Kardashian was our most surprising absence of the night because of the fact that she was actually in New York City attending the MTV VMAs the night before. One would think that since the Met Gala was in the area as the VMAs, she would just pop in and dazzle on the red carpet alongside her sisters, Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, and her mother, Kris Jenner. But Kourt couldn’t be bothered to do so, reportedly because of a very important and honorable reason.

Why did Kourtney Kardashian skip the Met Gala?

It seems that the eldest Kardashian skipped this event because of the blatant disregard of her younger sister Khloe Kardashian. We mentioned previously that we can’t really pinpoint why the Good American co-founder doesn’t attend this renowned event, but The Sun was able to shed some light on why this may be the case. An insider shared with the media outlet:

"Khloe and Kourtney have never been invited to the Met Gala, but Kourtney was invited to this one and chose to stay home with Khloe because she didn’t want to leave her alone."

By the sound of it, Kourtney Kardashian climbed in social status during the brief time the Met Gala was on hiatus, but unfortunately, the event’s guest-list overseer, fashion icon Anna Wintour, still viewed Khloe Kardashian as a “C-Lister” and reportedly banned her from the affair for a short time if not for life.

Being the good big sis that she is, Kourtney reportedly refused to leave anyone out and didn’t attend the event in defense of Khloe.

On the day of the event, Khloe took to her Instagram to share another one of her cryptic quotes.

“Good Morning,” her Instagram Story read. “Today we are staying hydrated, meditating, ignoring people who makes us sad and communicating our feelings. Now go be great.” Anna Wintour may have ghosted Khloe, but Khloe certainly made sure to return the favor even if she was sad while doing so.

Hopefully, Kourtney Kardashian was able to ease the disappointment that Khloe Kardashian may have felt on Monday night. Maybe next time everyone in the family of celebrities will be invited to the Met Gala, but if not, thankfully this family always has one another’s back.
