Uh-oh, it looks like Kylie Jenner has found herself in hot water again for the same mistake she’s accused of frequently, blackfishing.

For those who may not be familiar with the term, “blackfishing” is used to describe a non-Black person who makes their skin appear to be significantly darker than it actually is, thus, appropriating the skin tone of Black individuals. Some even liken this behavior to that of the highly offensive popular practice, blackface.

Because of makeup and social media filters, blackfishing is something that is becoming more common, with many non-Black celebrities appearing to be Black or racially ambiguous. Fortunately, these mistakes are often corrected by said celebrities and are usually followed by a swift apology and a statement declaring their openness to learn.

But, unfortunately, an admittance of wrong-doing is something that Kylie Jenner has failed to do in the past and has failed to do once more.

Fans call out Kylie Jenner for blackfishing again

Screen Rant reports that Kylie Jenner’s fans are no longer letting the celeb off the hook that easily as she has proven time and time again to make the same errors. This time, the offense was found in Jenner’s Instagram Story, where she chose a filter that made her appear significantly darker in skin tone.

Comments underneath this post expressed their weariness at the fact that Jenner is slow to learn about the dangers of blackfishing, but is quick in her disrespect and disregard for the Black community.

“So she doing blackface and people just posting like [it’s] all good? Are we in the 60s again?” one comment stated, while another also held the same sentiments, writing, “Can we start gatekeeping black culture more [because] I don’t have the option to take my skin on and off so I don’t think she should either.”

Expectedly, Kylie Jenner has not spoken out on these accusations of blackfishing and while fans are seldom surprised at her behavior, they are beginning to call for the celebrity to hold herself accountable and cease these antics. Will she do so? We’ll have to wait to find out.

We will be sure to let you know when or if Jenner does ever step forward with a statement or apology.
