Tana Mongeau responds to backlash after she’s caught with Kylie Jenner’s daughter Stormi as her phone background

Internet personality Tana Mongeau recently came under fire by fans of Kylie Jenner after she was spotted having Jenner’s daughter, Stormi Webster, as her phone’s background photo at an event last week.
Fans were confused as to why Mongeau, who may run in the same circles as Jenner but doesn’t exactly have a direct friendship with the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, would have a picture of a child as her background. Some believe that it may be because she finds the picture adorable, however, many believe that it was Mongeau’s vain attempt at chasing clout, which certainly wouldn’t bode well with fans nor Jenner.

Why does Tana Mongeau have Stormi as her phone background?
Tana Mongeau’s manager David Weintraub informed E! News that the 23-year-old chose Stormi Webster as her background for an inside joke between all of her friends.
“It’s a funny viral meme,” Tana relayed. “My friends and I all did it. People take things too seriously. [It’s] proof I can just exist and get canceled.”
Tana also posted a video further explaining, which you can see below.

Though Mongeau sees her phone background as a joke that shouldn’t be taken too seriously, close friends of Kylie Jenner such as Stassie Karanikolaou and Victoria Villarroel believed that the behavior was “strange” and “very weird.”
And it seems Karanikolaou has taken it a step further because, according to Reddit fans, she has proceeded to unfollow Tana Mongeau on Instagram as did Alabama Barker.
We can’t help but wonder if Jenner echoes her friends’ sentiments, or if she, too, finds the use of her daughter as a background on a stranger’s phone harmless.
We will be sure to update you once or if Jenner ever addresses the situation concerning Tana Mongeau, but for now, it seems that it has already been resolved.
